Psyhotherapy

I offer "Talk Therapy" sessions at my office in Kennebunk/tele-health, utilizing a trauma-informed approach. It is essential that clients feel safe and not re-traumatized during therapy. "Talk Therapy" can involve various modalities and approaches. In my practice, I focus on helping individuals identify the origins of their behaviors and thought patterns, develop strategies to change those behaviors and provide information about mental health diagnoses. Additionally, I encourage and teach strategies for implementing boundaries and effective communication skills, preventing burnout, reprocessing and desensitizing trauma, managing trauma triggers, and identifying attachment styles. My approach will vary based on your needs and the goals you hope to achieve through therapy.

Equine Assisted Psychotherpay

Equine-Assisted Therapy (EAP) offers a unique opportunity to engage in therapy alongside your therapist and horses. Horses encourage us to connect with the most authentic version of ourselves, promoting congruence and helping us to be present in our bodies by acknowledging our feelings. This type of therapy requires us to explore deep emotional layers.

By participating in EAP, we can uncover patterns in our relationships with horses and learn to establish healthy boundaries. This experience can be transformative, helping us to grow and become better versions of ourselves. Our equine companions are not just tools; they are an integral part of our therapeutic process.

We customize our treatment to meet your individual needs by combining EAP with other modalities, such as EMDR, DBT, mindfulness, and somatic awareness. While riding may be included as part of EAP, it is not the primary focus of the therapy.
